C. M. Chitra.
“Learn. Play. Connect. Belong.”
C. M. Chitra is a social work professor, educator, guitarist and the founder of CforChords. Her journey in music began with teaching guitar in 2017, and grew into a vision of a place where children and adults could learn, perform, connect and genuinely enjoy music.
Her background in social work shapes the way she teaches: listening to her students, encouraging them, and being there for them throughout their musical journey.
She takes particular joy in helping children build confidence through music — motivating them to step outside their comfort zones, take the stage, express themselves and celebrate their progress. At the same time, she believes adults deserve a welcoming space to explore their passion, learn at their own pace, and rediscover the joy of being a beginner.
For Chitra, CforChords is more than a music academy. It is a family and a growing community of music enthusiasts of all ages, where students, parents and teachers learn, support, perform and grow together.
Her greatest reward is seeing people become more confident, creative, expressive and happy through music.
